Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American singer and actress whose dramatic variety earned her acclaim in a variety of genres ranging from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson was raised within New York City as the daughter an architect and the owner of a production company. Hunter and her twin brother and She were both the youngest out of four kids. Her interest began in acting at an early age auditioning for commercials by age seven. Her interest in acting grew quickly and she enrolled shortly thereafter to the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. At the age of eight old, Johansson starred alongside Ethan Hawke as Sophistry in an Off-Broadway show. When she was nine, she debuted in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was later seen on screen in Just Cause, but she first made an appearance in Manny & Lo, a film about orphaned siblings who flee. The film received praise for her performance in the film as a teen who had a life-threatening accident The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition for her role as the cynical teenage exiled Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001).
